million home from potential flooding damage.
This has raised concerns about the safety of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's $14 million mansion in Montecito, California, as the wall could reroute flood waters to their property and others nearby.
Additionally, there are worries that the boulder wall itself may disintegrate during a flood, causing further damage.
Montecito is an upscale residential area that is susceptible to rainstorms, with a devastating mudslide in 2018 claiming the lives of 23 people and hospitalizing over 150.
A Carpinteria-based company has applied for a permit at Oprah's address to build the controversial wall.
