Royal expert Daniela Elser has expressed concerns that the couple's decision to 'divide and conquer' is highly unusual for them, as they typically do everything together.
Elser notes that the couple has been very vocal about their connectedness in the past, even going so far as to refer to Prince Harry as the 'salt' to Meghan's 'pepper'.
Elser questions why the couple's united front seems to have faltered, especially as both of their children are now older and less of a liability on long flights.
She suggests that Meghan may have stayed home to take care of their son Archie on his fourth birthday, while Harry attended a family event in London.
However, Elser points out that the couple managed to combine parenting and their royal duties during the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebration last year, so why not this time?
