Charlotte Griffiths, Editor of the Mail on Sunday, stated that one of the main reasons Harry took so long to respond to the coronation invite was his determination for his kids' status to be recognized by the Royal Family.
After considering his response for several months, the father of two announced that he would attend his father's big day, but his wife and children would stay in California. Griffiths believes that this would have been the perfect opportunity for the California-based royal couple's children to receive some "special recognition" at one of the most significant events in British history.
Griffiths also noted that Charles was open to the suggestion of making a gracious nod to Archie, and there were rumors that he would raise a glass to his grandson during a post-procession Coronation lunch. However, an insider revealed that this was unlikely to happen as no member of the Sussex family was expected to attend the lunch.
According to sources, Harry plans to return to the US after attending the main event on May 6th, so that he can be home in time for Archie's fourth birthday.
