According to Prince Harry's memoir titled 'Spare', the Duke of Sussex
reminisces about his time in Army Boot camp and how he would lend his phone to
his fellow cadets.
Unlike the other cadets, Harry was allowed to keep his mobile phone in his room for security reasons. He would use his phone to text his girlfriend, Chels, and update her on his progress.
Additionally, Harry would also loan his phone to other cadets who wanted to stay in touch with their significant others back home.
Harry would spend his evenings bulling his boots, which involved rubbing and spitting on them to make them shine, while using his phone to stay connected with loved ones.
After helping his fellow cadets, Harry would go to bed without any fear of the dark. Harry officially joined the Army in 2006 and left in 2015.
