According to recent reports, Prince Harry has always wanted to take a
different path from his brother Prince William. In his memoir "Spare", the Duke
of Sussex reveals that during his time in the army, he had a desire to work in
the field and serve his country in his own unique way.
Prince Harry had initially resisted becoming a jet pilot as he felt drawn to being on the ground with his fellow soldiers. However, he was advised by General Dannatt that becoming a pilot would be the safest option for him and those around him.
Despite his reservations, Prince Harry decided to pursue the pilot path, but found himself struggling with the extensive amount of schoolwork required to qualify. He eventually left the military after 10 years of service, turning his attention to philanthropic work.
In his memoir, Prince Harry speaks candidly about his desire to follow his own path and do things his way, even if it meant going against tradition.
