The controversy gained momentum when Arwa Mahdawi, an author for The Guardian, voiced her concerns over the couple's fading star power. She raised the question, "Is America finally growing weary of Harry and Meghan?" as it appears that way.
"It was just a few months ago that the pair enjoyed adoration from the media in the US, but now they seem to have become a subject of ridicule," Mahdawi pointed out.
To bolster her argument, the writer cited the show Spare and the Harry & Meghan docuseries, both of which shed light on the couple's portrayal of themselves as victims. Mahdawi didn't mince words, describing this aspect as "unflattering."
Furthermore, in the midst of her piece, Mahdawi dismissed the couple's previous claim of contemplating a lawsuit against South Park as "groundless" and uninteresting.
In Mahdawi's eyes, it is the continuous and tiresome plea for sympathy that Harry and Meghan subject the public to that has become wearisome.
