On Tuesday, May 23rd, 2023, the High Court in London reached a decision on Prince Harry's police protection case, ruling against him. Following this verdict, Kristen Meinzer, a royal expert, shared her thoughts on The Royal Report, a Newsweek podcast.
Meinzer expressed her belief that King Charles III should have intervened to support his younger son, considering their previous success in handling legal matters.
She wished for Charles or another member of the royal family to step up and potentially resolve the situation without the need for a lawsuit. However, she doubted that this would happen, stating that Charles is unlikely to defend Harry.
Meinzer also expressed curiosity about the stance of other royals regarding the case. She mentioned instances where other members of the royal family sought protection for individuals who are not part of the royal family.
For example, Tina Brown's book, The Palace Papers, revealed that Prince William had a panic button installed in Kate Middleton's flat before their marriage, allowing her to alert the local police in case of intruders.
The expert speculated that other members of the royal family could empathize with Prince Harry's predicament and expressed her desire for someone to support him, given that he is still considered a member of the family.
Despite his criticism, Harry retains his title and is perceived as a public figure associated with the royal institution. Meinzer suggested that during Harry's rare visits to the U.K., the family should have assured him of their commitment to protecting him.
