As a royal expert and the author of Finding Freedom, Scobie denied having a personal close relationship with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
His testimony was part of a trial addressing allegations of unlawful information-gathering by a British tabloid publisher.
During the cross-examination, Scobie was questioned about his potential bias in assisting Prince Harry. AFP reported that he was asked if he had a "vested interest in helping Prince Harry if the opportunity arises."
Scobie refuted this claim, stating that his appearance in court actually provided "ammunition to the tabloids" and made his life more challenging.
Scobie further clarified that he did not possess Prince Harry's phone number and disputed being inaccurately referred to as a "cheerleader" for the royal couple based in California. He emphasized, "I don't have a close relationship with them personally."
