Tominey also drew attention to the fact that Prince Harry had recently relinquished Metropolitan Police protection, adding, "Those familiar with the actions of paparazzi in the US, compared with the relatively restrained behavior of their British counterparts these days, may also have found it thought-provoking."
She highlighted that despite Harry and Meghan's complaints about being relentlessly pursued in their Netflix series, there were very few paparazzi shots of the couple in UK newspapers due to stricter regulations following the Leveson inquiry.
Therefore, when Harry claimed that "history was repeating itself" and expressed concerns for Meghan's safety akin to his mother, Princess Diana, doubts arose.
This was because the couple had used a paparazzi image from a red carpet event in their Netflix docuseries, which cast doubt on their assertions.
