Shedding light on the matter, royal expert Jonathan Sacerdoti provided insights during an open interview with Fox News Digital. Initially, he defended King Charles against criticism for remaining silent on the NYC car chase issue.
Speaking with the digital outlet, Mr. Sacerdoti stated, "I don't believe the palace should involve itself in this matter."
This is mainly because "Harry and Meghan have departed from their roles in the royal family and the UK." Therefore, it can be assumed that "the responsibility of their own security in America lies with them."
This statement was made in response to the car chase incident in New York, where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, accompanied by Meghan's mother Doria Ragland, found themselves in a dangerous situation due to a group of highly aggressive paparazzi.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were in New York to attend the Women of Vision award show at the time.
Their spokesperson issued a statement following the intense media coverage, expressing concern over the incident: "This prolonged pursuit, lasting over two hours, resulted in numerous close calls involving other drivers, pedestrians, and two NYPD officers."
The statement further highlighted the importance of prioritizing safety over public interest, condemning the dissemination of images obtained through intrusive and dangerous means.
