Reports suggest that he will be in London next week to provide evidence in his lawsuit against the Mirror newspaper regarding allegations of phone hacking.
This court appearance is significant because Prince Harry will reportedly be the first senior member of the royal family to testify in court since 1890.
Back then, Edward VII, who was the Prince of Wales at the time, had to appear in court due to allegations of cheating by one of his friends during a card game.
Interestingly, King Charles will not be present in London during Harry's visit as he plans to go hiking alone in Transylvania, Romania. In the event that the king is unable to fulfill his duties temporarily due to illness or being abroad, Letters Patent are issued to appoint two or more Counsellors of State to act on his behalf.
This means that when Prince Harry appears in court, his brother Prince William would be one of the individuals responsible for overseeing affairs in the UK.
The Duke of Sussex is scheduled to appear in the High Court in early June as he takes legal action against Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN) for alleged phone hacking. It has been reported that King Charles' trip to Romania, which is planned for the same week, will overlap with Harry's rare visit to the UK, making it unlikely for the father and son to meet.
According to The Telegraph, Prince Charles' recent coronation saw Prince Harry hurriedly returning to California, still adorned with his medals and morning suit, for his flight back from Heathrow Airport. The King's trip to Romania will not include his wife, Queen Camilla.
Prince Harry is expected to personally testify during the MGN trial in London early next week, where he will directly confront former Mirror editor Piers Morgan.
