According to the Daily Mail, the Duke of Sussex revealed that none of the royals have an inherent desire to assume the roles of King or Queen. However, he acknowledged that they would willingly accept the associated "duties" when the time inevitably comes.
In the interview, Harry expressed, "No one in the Royal Family wants to be King or Queen." He further emphasized that the rapid advancement of social media has greatly influenced the monarchy, stating, "things are moving so fast."
Reflecting on his personal experiences, the Duke shared a poignant memory, saying, "William and I were 14 and 12 when our mother died, and I had to walk a long way behind her coffin, surrounded by thousands of people watching me while millions more did on television." He added, "I don't think any child should be asked to do that, under any circumstances. It certainly wouldn't happen today."
Angela Levin, the journalist conducting the interview, is renowned for her extensive work on the British royal family. In fact, she recently published a biography on Queen Camilla in September 2022.
