According to King Charles' former press secretary, Colleen Harris, the newly crowned King was "delighted" by his younger son's attendance.
Harris shared King Charles' positive reaction with People magazine, indicating that Prince Harry's decision to attend was "the right" move.
However, other experts have suggested that King Charles may have been more relieved than delighted by Prince Harry's presence.
Royal expert Christopher Andersen noted that if Prince Harry had not attended, it would have been a further indication that the rift between him and the royal family was irreparable.
Andersen went on to say that Prince Harry's attendance offered a ray of hope that some sort of reconciliation was possible and that he was still loyal to his father, the royal family, and the monarchy.
Andersen did, however, suggest that King Charles could have made a small gesture towards Prince Harry if he truly wanted to move past the acrimony between them. He noted that Prince Harry was largely ignored at the coronation because he is no longer a "working royal."
Despite this, Prince Harry's attendance has offered a glimmer of hope that he and the royal family may be able to repair their relationship.
