Prince Harry's Desire to Leave Royal Family Before Marrying Meghan

Prince Harry's Desire to Leave Royal Family Before Marrying Meghan

Prince Harry appeared to have a desire to distance himself from the royal family even before his marriage to Meghan Markle. In a recently resurfaced interview from 2017 with author Angela Levin, the Duke of Sussex, then 38 years old, expressed his wish to leave behind the life of royalty. Angela Levin, who wrote the book "Harry:

A Biography of a Prince," had discussed his longing for a more ordinary existence, and she shared his thoughts in her column for the Daily Mail at that time. Harry revealed to the journalist, "I spent many years feeling restless and reluctant to mature." He admitted to wanting to escape, but ultimately decided to stay and carve out a meaningful role for himself within the royal family.

The now father of two also expressed his determination to lead a relatively normal life and expressed hope for the possibility of having children in the future. Reflecting on his past, Harry recounted the challenging experience of walking behind his mother, Princess Diana's, coffin at her funeral in 1997 when he and his brother, Prince William, were just teenagers.

He remarked that no child should be subjected to such a situation, emphasizing that it would not happen in the present day. Angela Levin described Harry not as a "clown prince" or a complainer but as a wounded prince.

In 2020, Harry and Meghan shocked the world by deciding to step back as senior members of the royal family and relocating to North America. They further made headlines with a revealing interview conducted by Oprah Winfrey a year later and by releasing their Netflix series, "Harry & Meghan," in December of that same year.

Additionally, Harry, who founded the Invictus Games, published his candid memoir, "Spare," in January. These various projects often highlighted their departure from royal duties and their desire to distance themselves from the responsibilities associated with being part of the Windsor family.

Harry and the former actress, Meghan Markle, began dating in 2016 and exchanged vows in 2018 at St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle. However, their seemingly affectionate relationship is now rumored to be on the verge of collapse, as suggested by Paul Burrell, Princess Diana's former butler.

The 64-year-old recently alleged that Harry has finally come to realize the truth about Meghan. Burrell questioned whether Harry has awakened to the fact that he may have been influenced and captivated by Meghan's beauty or other factors.

Burrell expressed confusion over Harry's current actions, saying, "There is a part of Harry that we all love, but we just don't understand why he is behaving the way he is at the moment."
