Earlier this week, Omid Scobie, a close friend and royal expert of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, took to Twitter to share the news.
He revealed that Mr. Justice Chamberlain, presiding over the High Court, refused the Duke of Sussex permission to seek a judicial review regarding the decision that prohibited him from privately funding his own police security while in the country.
Despite this unfavorable outcome, it should be noted that the security battle is not entirely over. Prince Harry has already secured the right to a comprehensive judicial review against the Home Office, challenging their initial decision to deny him protective security. Furthermore, his legal team has the option to appeal the recent ruling.
It is worth mentioning that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex relinquished their UK taxpayer-funded protection when they stepped back from their frontline royal duties in 2020 and relocated to the United States.
