The actress was granted full custody of Suri in a quick divorce settlement, with no spousal support being awarded to Holmes.
According to court documents, Cruise will pay Holmes $400,000 per year in child support for the next 12 years until Suri turns 18. This amounts to a total of $4.8 million, which is significantly less than what a judge could have ordered if the case went to trial.
However, Cruise will also be responsible for covering all of Suri's expenses, including medical, dental, insurance, education, college, and extracurricular activities.
Interestingly, the couple has reportedly agreed that Suri will not attend any "residential schools," including those affiliated with Scientology, until after her high school years. This is likely due to Holmes' reported concerns about the controversial religion's influence on her daughter.
The divorce settlement was finalized less than two weeks after Holmes filed for divorce in June of that year. In a joint statement, the former couple expressed their commitment to working together as parents and keeping their family matters private.
