Angelina Jolie: Brad Pitt 'Forcefully' Silencing Her on Abuse

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt find themselves caught in a legal battle over a winery they jointly acquired in the South of France. The ongoing dispute has shed light on a plane ride in 2016 where Jolie alleges Pitt was abusive towards her and their children, attempting to silence her.

The Maleficent actress and Babylon actor have become embroiled in a legal tussle concerning their shared ownership of a winery located in the South of France. The property was purchased back in 2008 for a staggering $28.4 million.

During a highly publicized cross-country private flight in 2016, Pitt was accused of engaging in troubling behavior towards their children, including "choking and striking" one of them, as well as "pouring beer" on Jolie.

In response, Pitt, aged 59, has introduced a new amendment claiming that Jolie, aged 47, intentionally concealed the sale of her portion of their family wine business to a Russian oligarch after their separation. These details were reported by People Magazine.

Furthermore, the Fight Club actor alleges that his former wife refused to sell him her half of the vineyard shares due to a sense of vindictiveness stemming from an unfavorable custody ruling.

Angelina Jolie: Brad Pitt 'Forcefully' Silencing Her on Abuse

Jolie has countered the accusations made by Brad Pitt, asserting that she sold her shares in their French estate, Château Miraval, as an act of seeking retribution. An insider quoted by Page Six disputes Pitt's claims, stating that he insisted on Jolie's silence about the abuse and held back $8.5 million from the winery payment to enforce her compliance. Court documents filed in 2022 support this assertion.

According to the source, if Jolie had spoken about the abuse, Pitt would have retained some or all of the $8.5 million. The insider further asserts that regardless of Pitt's legal maneuvers, he cannot evade the fact that he verbally and physically assaulted Jolie and their children, including an incident of choking and striking one of the children.

However, a close associate of Pitt argues that the actor merely requested Jolie to sign a standard non-disclosure agreement related to the winery purchase.

In addition, recent legal filings by Pitt state that he and Jolie agreed not to sell their shares in the $30 million Provence winery without the other's approval.
