Harry and Meghan Warned Quitting Royal Family Could Haunt Them

According to Graydon Carter, the former editor of Vanity Fair, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have made a decision that they may come to regret after leaving the Royal Family.

Carter believes that the Sussexes' choice to distance themselves from the royals will have repercussions when they realize that their children have no relatives.

In January 2020, Harry and Meghan announced their departure as senior royals and their intention to achieve financial independence.

They relocated to California and have faced criticism for their critical portrayal of the Royal Family in their Netflix series and Harry's revealing memoir, titled "Spare."

Carter finds Harry and Meghan to be intriguing figures. He expresses his concern about their future by highlighting the fact that their children have no cousins, uncles, or aunts, and they only have limited access to their grandparents.

He predicts that this absence of family connections will eventually haunt them. Despite living in the beautiful area of Montecito, California, Carter suggests that it can be a lonely place due to its limited activities and remote location, being a 40-minute drive from Los Angeles. He points out that there are few young families residing there due to its high cost of living.

Carter describes Montecito as "God's waiting room" since there is not much to do, making it a solitary yet visually appealing place.

The incident Carter refers to occurred after the Sussexes attended an awards ceremony in New York. He shares his observation of their high level of attention, noting that in a city like New York, one cannot move faster than three miles an hour.

Carter believes that being inaccessible is the greatest asset for people like Harry and Meghan. He explains that excessive exposure can lead the public to become tired of them. According to him, the couple has made all the wrong moves, possibly contributing to their current situation.

Regarding the Royal Family, Carter confesses his lack of interest but recognizes their significance to the British people.

He compares the royals to iconic characters in Disneyland, stating that they are essential to the narrative and attract visitors. Removing the Royal Family from the British context, in his opinion, would make the country feel like a small Middle Eastern nation. He admits to finding pleasure in the misfortunes of the royals, as their success can be dull.

In summary, Graydon Carter believes that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's decision to leave the Royal Family may have long-lasting consequences, especially when they realize the lack of relatives for their children. He also comments on the couple's public image, their move to California, and the impact it has had on their lives.

Additionally, Carter expresses his disinterest in the Royal Family but acknowledges their significance to the British public and shares his views on their role in the country's identity.
