Responding to this milestone, King Charles, who had recently concluded his trip to Transylvania, issued his inaugural statement. The message coincided with the commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the arrival of the HMT Empire Windrush to British shores in 1948, which took place on Tuesday.
In his statement, King Charles emphasized the significance of recognizing and appreciating the contributions made by the Windrush pioneers who disembarked at Tilbury in June 1948, just a few months before his own birth, as well as subsequent generations.
The official Twitter handle of the royal family shared the King's statement with the public.
Prior to this, on Tuesday, the Duke of Sussex made history once again as the first British royal in over a century to testify in court, highlighting the incessant intrusion by the media throughout his life. Prince Harry's return to the UK occurred on Sunday, following King Charles' coronation on May 6.
