It is said that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ceased using their official Sussex Instagram account after resigning from their royal duties.
Reportedly, the Queen requested that the Duchess not use the royal account for personal gain as the couple departed from the UK.
According to a recent report, the former US actress could potentially earn a substantial sum by monetizing her Instagram posts, surpassing some of the platform's top influencers.
It is estimated that the Duchess could earn $30,000 per post if she were to accept sponsorship deals and brand partnerships for her account.
At present, the Sussexes' Instagram boasts 9.4 million followers and a 5.82 per cent engagement rate.
Consequently, if Meghan were to create just 27 sponsored posts within a year, she could potentially earn $810,000 - a sum capable of covering some of the couple's expenses after being cut off from royal funds.
After stepping down as senior members of the British royal family, the couple relocated to California as part of their plan to achieve financial independence.
Since settling in the US, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have secured multi-million dollar deals, appeared in a Netflix documentary, and released a controversial book.
