Montecito House Woes: Harry & Meghan Face Value Loss and Growing Anger in Their Home

Lose their cool as their Montecito house loses all its value too many problems. Is this a key driver for why Megan might be having trouble getting a competitive price on the market? Because California real estate, and especially in Montecito, due to the percentage of A-list denizens, is typically hot.

Even if the ex-royals hadn't brought down the property value through their world privacy tour and PR mishaps, the home would still stagnate on the market because being the resident of a psychiatric patient would do wonders next to an actual homicide manslaughter happening on the property.

Why a humanitarian climate change Warrior who has a family of two adults and two infants needs a multi-acre estate full of lush Greenery that's miles away from their source of income, I'll never know.

I'm not saying they have to live in a caravan to filter their own pee, but you could have gotten a penthouse in the city and a cabin in the woods for the weekends or something.

Don't tell me being in the city is a security concern when you can be 50 floors above anything with private elevators in a secure building with 24-hour security guards as part of your building fees.

They were getting turfed from Tyler Perry's house for being the they are, but they could have rented a Luxe place for a few months and took their time, but no, they had to make yet another bad decision and rush to be Mansion estate owners, and in that rush, they bought a massive dud property. Did they ever think why has it been so hard for this property to sell? Why has it been on the market so long? Like anyone who knows that if a place has been on the market for literal years, there's a reason, and they got what they deserved.

Their Pure Fantasy income billionaires has never materialized; they're toxic pariahs that no one wants to work with. They have no ongoing income stream, no offers, no one wants to work with them, and they're hemorrhaging money. This place is a noose around their neck, a very, very expensive one to maintain, and when they simply cannot afford.

What were they thinking? As usual, they were thinking they are the smartest people in the room and they know best. What they didn't realize is that they both have equally never had to make adult decisions, let alone important financial decisions and deal with the consequences. So yes, they really got what they deserved for being so utterly foolish and simply stupid.

There is some info on their house; it had a lot of issues when they purchased it, and for Montecito, it's relatively low in price. It's actually in a community with an ornamental gate, but anyone can drive through the neighborhood. Most of the houses in this little subdivision are pretty normal for Montecito, maybe five to six thousand square feet on average. It's not some Ultra exclusive Enclave; there are tons of kids and families just out for walks, playing with their dogs, etc. Harry and Megan's house is actually one of the few with security gates, most are just Standalone houses with a driveway like anywhere else.

Both the gates and surrounding fencing are covered in heavy green tarps. Then there are literally at least 20 cameras in all directions on their driveway. They have one of those spheres with six cameras and then mounted fixed cameras everywhere. They do the ugly tarps whenever they go based on Canada Retreat photos.

The other thing about Montecito is that the people with real money (Oprah, Ellen, etc.) don't live in subdivisions; they live on gated Estates with massive acres of land set way back from the road, completely away from other neighbors. I was surprised at how close Harry and Megan's house is to the common everyday looking people. I would call this more entry-level or tier 2 Montecito, when the real Trophy Properties are 500 to 100 million plus.

I've heard that they have had plumbing problems because it was a newer house built on the cheap. The plumbing or sewage system has created an odor on the property. Compared to Tyler Perry's truly tasteless La Quinta Inn new money mansion on steroids, Montecito looks practically historic. There are also about 10 minutes from a rather large cannabis op that also tends to wreak the neighborhood up.

How stupid does someone need to be to drop 11 mils on a property and not have a thorough home inspection done? Who doesn't check traffic patterns, check for natural hazards, check for surrounding areas, etc.?

Who the buys a house without visiting the area at diverse times of day and night to listen and look for the quality of life issues? Who doesn't ask neighbors and people who work in the area for insight? Who doesn't Google nearby attractions that could impact their home life like Parks, schools, Trails, farms, and bird sanctuaries? How can two middle-aged people be so utterly dim?

They are going to end up broke because neither ofthem has any money sense at all. It might be the best thing for them both to become jokes, go broke, and have to live like the real people they said they wanted to be. She can work at Walmart, and he can work at Home Depot.

I heard they compromised and moved to Montecito because Harry was not a fan of Beverly Hills, although it seems to have grown on him and Megan, each with their alleged owned hotel suites in the area at separate clubs and hotels.

I heard they ended up in Montecito because the properties they really wanted in Malibu were out of reach. Megan wanted to be in the vicinity of what she deemed were heroes of life, the mega wealthy and connected. The woman chases money, infamy, power, and control like a dog in heat. The serious question is who suggested and/or advised them to buy it.

Well, Oprah was a big initial draw, but I have actually heard some other goings-on about this. Megan and Harry thought they would flip the Montecito house. The hilarious bit is that they weren't going to flip it by doing work on it.

They thought by buying it, living in it, and reselling it, they would attract buyers clamoring to pay millions more than Her Majesty paid solely for bragging rights that the buyer now lives in the house Harry and Megan lived in.

Genuine question: If the previous owner ever actually had a draw for houses like a place in Montecito or Malibu, I honestly can't imagine anyone being willing to fork out an extra 5 to 10 million for an already expensive mansion in an area already chock full of celebrity mansions. Even if we pretend for a second that the heart goals are actually A-list celebrities (LOL), anyone with that kind of money is probably already a celebrity in their own right and wouldn't need the bragging rights of buying a house once owned by another person of the exact same social status.

It's been reported that Megan really hates the Montecito home now. It is a money pit, and the upkeep is really expensive. No wonder she prefers the Beverly Hills Hotel. But here's what we know: Megan's PR released and tried to manifest Malibu at the time previous to them buying in Montecito. They were going to buy one of Mel Gibson's old places in Malibu, but the deal fell through.
