Prince Harry to make history next week

In an upcoming landmark event, Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, is poised to etch his name in history as he prepares to testify in his lawsuit against a newspaper group, which he accuses of engaging in unlawful activities.

As reported by Reuters, the devoted father of Lilibet and Archie will be the first senior British royal in 130 years to provide testimony in court.

Next week, London's High Court will witness Meghan Markle's beloved partner taking the stand in the witness box. This legal action is part of a broader case involving Prince Harry, alongside more than 100 other prominent personalities, against MGN, the publisher responsible for the Daily Mirror, Sunday Mirror, and Sunday People.

The report indicates that this occasion holds significant weight, as it marks the first time in over a century that a senior member of the royal family will present evidence in a court proceeding.

The last instance of such testimony dates back to 1870 when Edward VII, prior to his ascension to the throne, testified as a witness in a divorce case. Twenty years later, he also appeared in court during a slander trial related to a card game.

Prince Harry's forthcoming testimony is thus an exceptional occurrence that adds a new chapter to the legal history of the British monarchy.
