Meghan Markle Shocked as WME Cancels Contract After Sussexes' Divorce Rumors: Dependence on Prince Harry Highlighted

In a surprising turn of events, Meghan Markle was taken aback when talent agency WME decided to cancel her contract shortly after rumors emerged about the potential divorce of the Sussexes.

It appears that Meghan's signing with WME was primarily based on her reputation gained through her association with the British royal family, particularly Prince Harry. However, following the speculation surrounding their marital status, WME swiftly announced the termination of their contract.

Renowned biographer and commentator Angela Levin expressed her opinion that Meghan Markle's significance largely stems from her relationship with Prince Harry. She emphasized that without him, Meghan would have considerably less influence.

While there are ongoing reports about a trial separation between the couple, Levin stated that Meghan seems eager to prove her individual strength. However, Levin firmly asserted that Meghan's identity and public standing are intrinsically tied to her partnership with the Duke of Sussex.

Levin added that there has been no contact between Meghan and Harry lately, remarking that whatever they did, they did together and seemed content in that dynamic. But now, the situation has evidently changed. Levin's claims coincide with rumors suggesting trouble in the California-based couple's marriage, with sources reporting that they are trying to navigate unexpected challenges. The source further mentioned that Harry feels out of place in Megan's glamorous Hollywood world, as he strives to find his own identity.

Before this development, Meghan Markle had signed with William Morris Endeavor (WME), an esteemed talent agency representing notable figures like Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and tennis star Serena Williams. Three years after stepping back from their senior royal duties, Meghan is now fully immersing herself in the entertainment industry.

Although acting will not be her primary focus, she will be working alongside WME's CEO Ari Emanuel, agent Brad Slater, and agent Zeal Smaller. WME will represent the couple's content creation label, Archewell, and collaborate with Meghan on film and television production partnerships, as well as overall business endeavors.

It is worth noting that Meghan had previously stated in a 2022 Variety cover shoot that she did not anticipate returning to acting anytime soon. However, her interest lies in further developing Archewell and exploring various storytelling avenues. She emphasized the power of love and how it resonates with people worldwide, and she expressed a desire to create content that is not always serious but also includes enjoyable and light-hearted genres like romantic comedies.

Meghan and Harry's partnership with Netflix for content production continues to be in progress, as they have already produced two docu-series, including "Harry and Meghan: The Sussexes" on the streaming platform. These recent developments regarding Meghan signing with WME came just days after the couple was spotted together in public at an LA Lakers game versus the Sacramento Kings.

As the future unfolds, it remains to be seen how Meghan will navigate her career and business ventures independently, while still being influenced by her close partnership with Prince Harry.
