Padma Lakshmi Calls Out Meghan Markle for Copying Her Outfit, Denies Meghan's Fashion Icon Status

Meghan Markle has come under fire for her choice of pants during the 2022 Invictus Games, as she is accused of copying Padma Lakshmi's outfit from a Top Chef episode. Meghan was seen beaming with joy in a cream sleeveless high-neck sweater and wrinkled pants, but the entire ensemble received harsh criticism.

Disappointed fans took to Reddit to express their reactions to Meghan's attire for the occasion. One user pointed out that Padma Lakshmi had the ideal body type for that outfit, whereas Meghan did not. Another user commented that Meghan appeared disheveled and failed to dress according to her body type, ignoring the importance of choosing suitable attire.

Claims of lacking originality arose, suggesting that Meghan's outfit resembled that of Jennifer Lawrence, who had worn a similar ensemble but with a much better fit in a Vogue photoshoot before Meghan's appearance.

In addition to the outfit controversy, Lady Colin Campbell, speaking on a YouTube channel, launched a scathing attack on Meghan Markle's posture, asserting that it made her clothes appear ill-fitting at social functions. Lady C criticized Meghan for her unfamiliarity with royal protocol, emphasizing the importance of regal posture and demeanour. According to Lady Colin, Meghan's posture and swagger affected the fit of her clothes, as she didn't comprehend the concept of ease and failed to maintain a suitable stance.

Lady Colin also noted that Meghan's clothes seemed more flattering when she stood still, referencing her Givenchy wedding dress that received mixed reviews, with some admiring it while others deemed it ill-fitting. The criticism extended beyond the wedding day, with instances such as the black Jason Wu dress she wore to "The Lion King" premiere in 2019 being described as excessively tight in the upper portion of her body. Similarly, Meghan's nude gold dress at Prince Charles's 70th birthday celebration faced criticism for appearing one size too big.

Fashion experts have consistently raised concerns about Meghan's fabric choices, noting that they tend to be prone to wrinkling. In Dublin, Meghan wore a Roland Mouret gray clover dress, which cost $2,085. Stylist Melissa, speaking about Meghan's fashion, criticized the visible bra, deeming strapless bras as the "work of the devil."

According to Melissa, the undergarment seemed too tight across the chest area. She offered a style tip, stating that unless underwear is intended to be worn as outerwear, it should remain discreetly hidden.
