Prince Harry Rejects King Charles' Reconciliation Invitation, Sets Condition

According to a royal biographer, Prince Harry has shown no interest in attending royal events in the UK since relocating to California with his family in 2020.

The Duke of Sussex will only make return trips to the UK for legal matters, rather than royal engagements, as revealed by a royal historian and biographer speaking on True Royalty TV's "The Royal Beat."

Royal editor Matt Wilkinson explained to The Sun that Harry's disengagement extends to the extent of appearing separately from his brother, Prince William, at the recent Diana Awards.

Notably, Harry and Meghan Markle were absent from their close friend Jake Warren's wedding in Suffolk last weekend.

Royal historian Gareth Russell stated, "The Sussex family doesn't seem very interested in going back at the moment unless it's a matter of legal, not royal, appearances or court."

Mr. Wilkinson added, "As with the fact that William and Harry did not appear together for Diana, Harry not attending his best man's wedding is entirely symbolic of him cutting his ties in the UK."

The Sussexes currently do not have a permanent residence in the UK and have expressed concerns about security. In 2023, Harry has only attended one major royal event, the coronation of his father, King Charles, and stepmother, Queen Camilla, at Westminster Abbey on May 6. However, he spent a mere 36 hours in the country and immediately flew back to Montecito to celebrate Prince Archie's fourth birthday.

Throughout the year, the Sussexes have remained in the headlines, from the release of Harry's explosive memoir, "Spare," in January, to their eviction from Frogmore Cottage, and the recent termination of their partnership with Spotify. Mail Online has now reported that Harry plans to step out of the spotlight as Meghan signs a new deal with celebrity manager Harry Emanuel at WME, focusing on commercial endorsements in sectors such as food, wellness, and fashion.

It is said that Harry prefers a quieter life compared to his wife and chooses not to mingle in the same celebrity circles. On July 4, the Duke made a low-key visit to the Independence Day parade near their Montecito home, accompanied by his two-year-old daughter, Princess Lilibet. Harry went incognito, wearing a baseball cap and sunglasses, while Lilibet donned a blue summer dress, long white stockings, and red shoes, with her red hair styled in pigtails.

Interestingly, the Sussexes celebrated American Independence Day just hours before King Charles received honors from Scotland at a Thanksgiving service in Edinburgh, commemorating his ascension to the Scottish throne.
