A royal insider further claimed that the Duchess of Sussex detested being controlled by the rigid Royal protocol.
One essential rule within the royal family dictates that members must report their intended destinations before leaving the palace. The former Palace attendant provided an example, stating that in Kensington Palace, royal family members are required to notify in advance when they are leaving and where they are headed. This protocol serves both security purposes and to avoid a situation where junior royals only leave when the most important person departs.
Reportedly, Meghan found this rule to be utterly ridiculous, while the former Palace employee stressed its absolute necessity. The royal source added, "I don't think there's been a greater dichotomy in all of history between what someone expected when they became a member of the royal family and what they really found out about." They claimed that Meghan was deeply disappointed, but she wasn't the only one who held such sentiments. According to them, Prince Charles shared many of Meghan's views, finding several protocols to be frivolous, though difficult to change.
The expert mentioned that William, on the other hand, embraced the protocol, which is evident in the traditional and seemingly 1950s-inspired appearances of Prince George, Prince Louis, and Princess Charlotte. Meghan, however, desires something different for her children. She longs for the American freedom to express herself, voice her opinions, and have the flexibility to go where she pleases, as per the expert's claims.
