Sussexes Blame Jealous Critics for Meghan's Empty Empire and Career Flop

Meghan Markle's once-promising venture, known as "Meghan's Empire," has faced a significant setback, with the Sussexes attributing its failure to the relentless criticism and animosity from jealous individuals. The couple laments the derogatory remarks flung their way, hindering their career aspirations.

In Meghan Markle's podcast, aptly named "Archetypes," she delved into the various labels imposed on women who strive for success, highlighting her own disdain at being branded a diva, drawing parallels with Mariah Carey.

Noteworthy guests, including Serena Williams, Paris Hilton, and Mindy Carling, joined her in the 12-episode Spotify series.

One particular episode, titled "To Be or Not to Be," explored the notion that labeling a woman as "difficult" is often a veiled way of suppressing her ambitions. Meghan anticipated facing even harsher criticism.

Adding insult to injury, Bill Simmons, a Spotify executive and sports podcaster, referred to Meghan and Prince Harry as "effing grifters" during his June 16th podcast. Shortly after, Spotify announced their mutual agreement to part ways with Meghan.

The Wall Street Journal reported that the couple, who had secured a $100 million Netflix deal, failed to meet the productivity expectations set for the $20 million Spotify deal.

As queries arose regarding Meghan's actual work on "Archetypes," the couple found themselves on the defensive once again. Star magazine reported that some critics went as far as labeling them money-hungry grifters.

The Insider claimed that Meghan and Harry dismissed such criticisms as baseless attacks from envious individuals. In 2020, the couple made headlines by announcing their departure from the United Kingdom, stating their intention to achieve financial independence.

They subsequently forged partnerships with Netflix and Spotify, in addition to Harry's book deal with Penguin Random House, estimated to be worth $40 million.

However, their path to success was not as smooth as anticipated. Netflix canceled Meghan's planned children's show, and their documentary, which echoed their grievances against the royal family, was seen as repetitive.

Similarly, Harry's memoir faced criticism, though it did offer personal insights into his life. The couple's charitable division, the Archewell Foundation, seemed to lack substantial impact, with a revolving door of personnel causing growing pains, as revealed by The Insider.

Megan and Harry were unwavering in their pursuit of their vision, swiftly replacing the original director of the Harry and Meghan project and refusing to tolerate anyone who did not share their goals.

Even Megan's podcast came under scrutiny when journalist Alison Yarrow disclosed that her interview was conducted with a predetermined narrative, later dubbed over in Meghan's voice. This revelation led some to criticize the former "Suits" star for not putting in the authentic work.

Despite these setbacks, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex remain undeterred. Megan's focus has shifted towards building her brand, as she engages with actors, entrepreneurs, and volunteers, while recently signing with super agent Aria Manuel at WME, who also represents Tyler Perry.

She exhibits a keen interest in the film and TV production business, as well as brand partnerships, aiming to establish herself as a force in Hollywood, according to The Insider. Undeterred by critics, Megan and Harry, after sealing the deal with Harry's father, King Charles III, during the May 6th coronation, appear poised to thrive and rake in millions.

Rumors have circulated that the couple secured a lucrative $15 million deal with a fashion house, although sources from both sides deny the validity of such claims. Nonetheless, Megan's new agent seems keen on pursuing high-profile partnerships that were previously discouraged by the royal family.

Speculation also surrounds Megan's potential revival of her lifestyle website, "The Tig," where she once shared her favorite fashion items, including Chanel ballet flats and Alexander McQueen stilettos, along with restaurant and makeup recommendations.

According to The Insider, Megan cherished "The Tig" and felt compelled to close it down due to the constraints imposed by her royal ties. However, now that those restrictions no longer apply, she eagerly looks forward to resurrecting it.
