The actress known for her role in "Confessions of a Shopaholic" and the famed "Borat" actor, who are parents to Olive (born 2007), Elula (born 2010), and Montgomery (born 2015), usually keep their personal life away from the public eye. However, Isla made an exception when asked by Judi Love about the secret to their happy marriage, answering candidly "on camera."
"We've found that keeping our relationship private adds to the sense of intimacy and uniqueness. Simultaneously, having shared careers allows us to discuss the challenges that come with Hollywood, our jobs, and the entertainment industry," Isla shared. "It's wonderful to share these commonalities, along with a shared sense of humor and a genuine affection for our little ones."
Coinciding with Sacha's birthday, Isla's appearance on "Loose Women" was a special celebration in more ways than one.
The couple's journey began at a party in Sydney back in 2001, where Sacha admitted it was love at first sight for him. Recalling their early connection, he told The New York Times, "We immediately clicked, exchanging banter and jests about the other attendees. I was certain from the start, though I'm not certain if she felt the same way. It took her about two decades to fully realize it."
After getting engaged in 2004, Isla and Sacha exchanged vows six years later in an intimate Parisian ceremony attended by just six close friends and family members.
Speaking about their decision for a discreet wedding, Isla told Allure, "Maintaining a meaningful ceremony surrounded by loved ones was paramount to me. Particularly when one's life is exposed to public scrutiny, ensuring this milestone remains private yet meaningful is an intricate challenge."
Despite their commitment to privacy, Isla hasn't shied away from expressing her deep admiration for her husband. She once enthused, "Opting to stand together every day is remarkably romantic. Marriage, in my view, is a beautiful institution and one of life's most pivotal choices," she revealed to Australia's Sunday Telegraph.
"As life unfolds with its ebbs and flows, having a steadfast companion to weather it all with you is priceless. It's an extraordinary feeling, akin to hitting the jackpot – having an incredible partner."
