Recent events have seen Prince Harry and Meghan Markle distancing themselves from the Royal Family, with seemingly no clear path for their return.
According to Charles Rae, a former royal editor at The Sun, the Sussexes now find themselves on the outskirts, labeled as "total outcasts." This isolation was underscored by the removal of their HRH titles from the royal family website, as reported by Express UK.
Rae, during a discussion on Talk TV, voiced the opinion that Harry and Meghan's actions had stretched King Charles to his limits. He emphasized that there is a point beyond which even someone like King Charles can no longer be pushed.
As Rae put it, "they are now ostracized," and it's a consequence of their own decisions. The Sussexes are no longer included in invitations to upcoming royal events, and their actions have soured relations with some members of the royal family, making a warm welcome seem unlikely.
Rae highlighted that, contrary to their recent actions, the Royals had been consistently supportive of Harry and Meghan. Yet, despite this, the couple did not receive an invitation to the annual gathering at Balmoral Castle, an unofficial memorial for the late Queen Elizabeth II on the first anniversary of her passing. Prince William and Kate Middleton might issue a statement on this occasion, while the King will mark the day in private. Meanwhile, Harry and Meghan are scheduled to be in Europe for the Invictus Games in Germany, their first joint international appearance since the Queen's funeral.
In Rae's words, "It's very much that old adage — he's made his bed, now he has to lay in it. It's that simple. Too much has gone under the bridge now." However, Rae also noted that a return to the way things were, with or without Meghan, appears highly unlikely.
