Meghan Markle Faces Backlash for 'Ironic' Message Ahead of Important Event with Prince Harry

Meghan Markle Faces Criticism for 'Ironic' Message Ahead of Joining Prince Harry at Key Event. Meghan Markle has recently come under scrutiny for an upcoming message she's slated to deliver as she prepares to join Prince Harry at the Invictus Games.

Scheduled to take place in Dusseldorf, the Invictus Games is a multi-sport event founded by Prince Harry in 2014. Meghan is set to join her husband for this significant occasion, where wounded, injured, and sick servicemen and women will compete.

According to Angela Levin, the author of Prince Harry's biography, Meghan's message to these veterans is expected to revolve around themes of "courage and resilience." Levin finds this choice of message rather "ironic," given her perspective on Meghan's own representation.

Levin remarked, "Meghan is going to be there [Invictus Games]. She is going to speak to the veterans about courage and resilience. I thought that was quite ironic because she represents neither of those things."

This controversy emerged in the wake of the release of a teaser for Prince Harry's upcoming Netflix documentary titled "Heart of Invictus." In the trailer, Harry discusses his journey in establishing the Invictus Games and delves into his profound connection with veterans.

Notably absent from the video was Meghan, though it remains uncertain whether she will be absent from the actual documentary.

Levin, however, noted that Harry appeared to be more like his "former self" in the teaser for the series, recounting his meaningful interactions with soldiers who had suffered mental or physical injuries. She also mentioned a candid conversation with Harry about how his involvement in such initiatives might aid in his own mental health.

As the documentary project unfolds, it's worth noting that a camera crew accompanied Harry and Meghan during their visit to the Games in The Hague, Netherlands, in 2022. The series, in the making for over two years, is produced by their company, Archewell Productions, directed by Orlando von Einsiedel, and produced by Joanna Natasegara, known for their work on the Oscar-winning short film "The White Helmets."

Harry is gearing up to attend the next Invictus Games tournament in Germany, commencing on September 9. The eagerly awaited series is set to premiere on the streaming platform on August 30.
