Several sources recently confirmed that the 42-year-old Duchess had acquired the Instagram handle @meghan. At the time of this revelation, the account, which had been dormant for a year, had no posts and approximately 4,000 followers. However, it swiftly garnered attention and currently boasts over 116,000 followers.
Although it hasn't been officially verified as belonging to the Duchess of Sussex, experts speculate that this move might be a strategic maneuver by the former Suits actress to gauge public interest.
Hollywood expert Ross King shared his insights on Meghan's Instagram revival during an ITV show hosted by Lorraine Kelly, as reported by Express.co.uk. He mentioned, "The word is that her handle was going to be 'Meghan,' and it's already racked up over 100,000 followers." King suggested that this development could be "just to test the waters."
"This, I think, is to see how popular, or not popular, she is," he elaborated. "It's already got 100,000 followers on there. It could be her, it might not, but it's definitely been planted there to see what people think."
The notion of Meghan's return to social media gained traction after her interview with The Cut last year, where she expressed her intention to rejoin the platform.
King added, "She talked about it a while ago, saying that she would go back to Instagram at some point, and why not?"
He emphasized the significance of staying relevant, stating, "Meghan and Harry still need to be relevant, and of course, one great way for that is through social media.
