Meghan Markle Upset Over George Clooney's Tequila Ambassador Choice

Meghan Markle Upset Over George Clooney's Tequila Ambassador Choice

Meghan Markle was reportedly left feeling bitter when George Clooney selected Jack as the brand ambassador for a billion-dollar tequila label instead of her. Notably, Jack Brooksbank, Princess Eugenie's husband, has an intriguing connection to Hollywood royalty, as he had previously served as the brand ambassador for Casamigos Tequila, the liquor brand co-founded by George Clooney, along with his associates, Rande Gerber and Mike Meldman.

The news of Jack becoming a brand ambassador through Clooney's association raised questions about George's relationship with the Duchess of Sussex. Meghan had openly expressed her fascination with distilled beverages and had even publicly voiced her desire to represent such a brand.

However, George Clooney appeared to have disregarded Meghan's interests in this matter, opting for Princess Eugenie's husband instead.

In one of her past quotes, Meghan mentioned, "While I generally opt for a glass of rosé or a crisp sauvignon blanc, sometimes the day calls for a tequila cocktail." She had expressed her desire to experiment with tequila cocktails even in England.

When Meghan Markle married Prince Harry, Pommery was the official champagne, and Bud Light was the beer of choice. Additionally, a specially crafted Royal Wedding tequila cocktail called "When Harry Met Meghan" was featured.

Now, Jack represents the brand, which recently made a staggering one-billion-dollar deal with Diageo. Casamigos Tequila has become a staple in top-tier venues such as hotel groups and private clubs. Jack's role involves educating consumers about the brand's story and taste credentials. He expressed his excitement about being part of the Casamigos family and noted the shifting consumer mindset towards quality sipping offerings rather than just shooting tequila.

Jack's journey to becoming a brand ambassador for Casamigos Tequila began in the hospitality industry after he graduated from Bristol University. He previously worked as the GM of the celebrity hotspot, Mahiki London in Mayfair. It was there that he developed a passion for tequila, particularly Casamigos, and formed partnerships and gained specialized knowledge about the product, making him the ideal candidate for the brand ambassador role.

During his wedding to Eugenie a few years ago, a selection of bespoke Casamigos cocktails was served to guests, with George and Amal Clooney in attendance. It's worth noting that there were rumors of Clooney personally pouring shots of his tequila at the bar during Harry and Meghan's wedding, so there could be more surprises in store for future events.
