Even before marrying Prince Harry at St George's Chapel in 2018, the Duchess of Sussex harbored a longing to go back to her home state of California.
Royal author Tom Bower has shed light on this aspect, stating, "Her intention was never to settle in England permanently. She had always planned to return to California, and this decision has proved quite advantageous for her," noted the royal biographer.
Bower shared with the Daily Express US, "Her accomplishments have been noteworthy. Instead of viewing her as she is, a determined opportunist, the ongoing discourse of attempting to reconcile with her family appears absurd."
The author went on to explain Meghan Markle's rationale behind curating a Hollywood-filled guest list for her royal wedding.
"This was evident from the guest list at Windsor. Harry's friends were notably absent, while her Hollywood acquaintances were included, such as Oprah Winfrey and George Clooney, along with her agents. The presence of these individuals was clearly intended to further her career," Bower concluded.
