PR expert Penelope Banton, in a conversation with Express, offered insights into why the former Suits actress might steer clear of resurrecting her once-popular platform. In her view, relaunching the blog might inadvertently shine a spotlight on Meghan's perceived inadequacies, especially considering her current standing as a prominent content creator.
Banton stated, "If her foray into podcasting doesn't meet success, it's improbable that she would revert to blogging, as it might be seen as a regressive step, potentially inviting criticism from the media."
For those unfamiliar with the history, Meghan Markle introduced The Tig in 2014 as an outlet for her creative expression while she continued her acting career, notably on Suits. However, following her engagement to Prince Harry in 2017, the blog was abruptly shuttered.
In recent times, rumors have been circulating about the possibility of The Tig's revival, as Meghan and Harry faced challenges in delivering content for their Spotify partnership. With their multi-million-dollar Netflix deal also facing scrutiny, speculations arose that Meghan might be exploring alternative income streams.
Nevertheless, the expert opined that it's unlikely we'll witness the return of The Tig. She emphasized that the blog symbolizes a different chapter in Meghan's life, one she has diligently striven to distance herself from. As she succinctly put it, "I believe it’s unlikely we’ll see a comeback of 'The Tig,' this blog represents a very different era of Meghan’s life - something she has worked very hard to move away from.
