TV Host Sparks Outrage with Controversial Prince Harry Joke: Meghan's Friend Condemns Patrick Christys

Reactions Pour In as TV Host Patrick Christys Faces Backlash for Controversial Prince Harry Joke. Popular TV presenter Patrick Christys is in hot water following a controversial joke he made during an interview with royal correspondent Charles Rae concerning Prince Harry's impending return to the UK.

The two television personalities were engaged in a discussion about Prince Harry's stance on the popular show "The Crown" when Christys made a comment that did not sit well with viewers. In a lighthearted manner, he quipped that it would be a tough decision to choose between James Corden and the Prince if he had a fake gun.

This offhand remark sparked a substantial backlash from viewers, some of whom lodged complaints with the UK's media regulator, Ofcom.

Notably, Omid Scobie, a close friend of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, expressed his anger at Christys' comment. He took to social media to convey his disapproval, stating, "Unlike this country's reputable news broadcasters, it seems you can get away with saying just about anything on @GBNews – including sick jokes about wanting to shoot people. And people wonder why Prince Harry has been so concerned about his security in the UK."

During the interview, Christys tried to contextualize his comment, saying, "What I find interesting about this was this was just before – I think this flew under the radar a bit for people. Just before Harry and Meghan did their Netflix thing, Harry did a thing with James Corden."

He continued, "I tell you what… oh gosh. If you had one fake gun and one fake bullet and you lined up Harry and James Corden I don't know which one you'd go for."

Charles Rae, the royal correspondent, laughed at the comment as Christys carried on, "And he was saying to him, 'How do you feel about The Crown?' And he said, 'Well I like The Crown. I don't mind The Crown, because it's obviously not real.' He was having a pop at people doing news broadcasts and slamming them and presenting certain things as facts. And I thought, 'That's not really true, is it Harry?' I mean, it became obvious why he said that shortly afterwards because he signed a multi-million pound deal with Netflix, and 'The Crown' is on Netflix."

However, these comments did not sit well with viewers who took to social media, formerly Twitter, to express their disgust and outrage.

One viewer asked, "Will @Ofcom act? Or sit on its hands and indulge GB News hate speech yet again? Clear breach of its code. Anyone can complain, only takes a few minutes."

Another Twitter user exclaimed, "This is disgusting," while yet another posted, "@Ofcom this is shameful and dangerous!!
