While the official stance from Buckingham Palace and the Sussexes remains undisclosed, Burrell has cast doubt on the American-based Royals making the journey to the UK for the event. According to him, the rift between the Sussexes and the royal family is now so substantial that any gathering would be uncomfortable for both parties.
Burrell contemplated the royal family's dilemma. Should they extend an invitation, take the moral high ground, and risk the potential fallout? In Burrell's estimation, Harry and Meghan declining an invitation seems likely. He went as far as saying he couldn't envision such a scenario given the current state of relations between the Sussexes and the royal family. "I can see The Parting of the Red Sea before that happens," he remarked.
