Charles Spencer Speaks Out: Prince Harry Milking Diana's Legacy in Heart of Invictus on 26th Anniversary

Charles Spencer Speaks Out: Prince Harry Milking Diana's Legacy in Heart of Invictus on 26th Anniversary

On the 26th anniversary of Princess Diana's passing, her brother, Charles Spencer, shared a heartfelt tribute with an unseen childhood photo of himself and Diana. Meanwhile, Prince Harry continues to explore his mother's legacy in his new Netflix series, "The Heart of Invictus."

On Thursday, August 31st, Charles posted this touching image on both his Twitter and Instagram accounts, accompanied by no caption. The Spencer family has always been vocal about their love for Diana since her tragic passing in 1997.

Charles Spencer fondly recalled Diana's brilliant sense of humor, emphasizing that it was one of her most remarkable qualities. He shared an anecdote from a classical concert they attended together, where Diana's charisma shone brightly. After the concert, Diana took the stage to meet the orchestra, and the musicians were captivated by her presence. Charles Spencer described how she effortlessly connected with people, putting them at ease, and creating a sense of joy and warmth.

Diana's final resting place is at the Spencer family's ancestral home in Northamptonshire, England, and this sacred site played a role in Prince Harry's memoir, "Spur." Charles Spencer provided the encouragement for Harry to bring Meghan Markle to visit Diana's gravesite on the 25th anniversary of her passing. Harry vividly recalled the experience of rowing a boat with Meghan to the gravesite, their tender moments of remembrance, and the heartfelt connection to his mother.

However, recent rumors suggest that Meghan may be banned from the Althorp Estate due to alleged inappropriate behavior during a visit. It's been claimed that she squatted down beside a monument, leading to speculation about her actions during the visit.

Amid these tributes and family memories, Prince Harry has faced accusations of exploiting his mother's legacy for financial gain through his Netflix series, "Heart of Invictus." Some critics believe that Harry is capitalizing on Diana's name by discussing how his military service triggered unresolved grief related to her death. In the series, Harry openly shares how his deployment to Afghanistan in 2012 served as a catalyst for emotions he had suppressed since losing his mother in 1997 at the age of 12.

While the documentary aims to support veterans dealing with trauma, some question why Harry is intertwining Diana's impact with the narrative instead of solely focusing on veterans' experiences. Critics suggest that mentioning Diana may be a strategic move to attract attention and boost the show's popularity.
