Herrera Accuses Meghan Markle of Being Hired by Brand Competitors to Tarnish CH's Fame with Fake Coat

Carolina Herrera Accuses Meghan Markle of Deliberately Wearing Fake Coat to Undermine CH's Reputation. Carolina Herrera has leveled a pointed accusation at Meghan Markle, suggesting that the Duchess may have been hired by brand competitors to tarnish CH's reputation by wearing a counterfeit coat.

This accusation comes in the wake of Meghan and Prince Harry's appearance at Kevin Costner's 1805 live concert in Santa Barbara, California, where Meghan's fashion choice raised eyebrows. Meghan Markle's attire at the event was notably unconventional, with her selection of a herringbone cape coat that featured a poncho-like design and a high collar.

This unique piece offered a fresh twist on the classic wool topper, boasting a slightly billowy and effortless silhouette. She paired it with dressy black trousers underneath.

However, Carolina Herrera's official account posted the original version of the cape, displaying Meghan wearing what appeared to be fake versions of the designer's creation. The original CH cape came with sleeves and was presented with pants and shoes. This move by the brand has cast doubt on whether one of their competitors might have engaged Meghan to wear a replica of Carolina Herrera's design intentionally to create a less favorable impression.

Notably, Louis Vuitton has employed similar tactics in the past, notably gifting Gucci purses to the cast of Jersey Shore to distance themselves from any negative associations.

Carolina Herrera's estrangement from Meghan can be traced back to a dispute when Harry's wife declined to pay for their services. Now, Meghan seems to be attempting to adopt Carolina Herrera as her brand, emphasizing its American roots and historical significance with First Ladies. However, her choice of CH attire has garnered criticism, as she consistently selects items that don't align well with her fashion sensibilities or the brand's image.

Meghan's recent fashion choice, in particular, has raised questions about its appropriateness for the occasion. Santa Barbara's September weather typically features pleasant warmth and gentle breezes, with daytime temperatures ranging from around 28 degrees Celsius to lows of around 17 degrees Celsius. The garment she wore seemed odd for the occasion, but what drew more attention was her attempt to keep the cape in place by holding her arms at right angles.

Fashion experts have weighed in, pointing out that Meghan, once again, is wearing a perfectly nice piece of clothing but wearing it incorrectly. The cape is not meant to be cinched tightly, and it seems designed for someone taller with broader shoulders. Some have noted that she looks like a child playing dress-up in an adult's closet.

Criticism of Meghan's fashion choices has been ongoing, with many remarking on the bewilderment of her attire given the event's temperature and nature. While Meghan has been applauded for her style in the past, this particular choice was seen as out of touch with both the weather and the dress code of the event.
