Lady C: Diana's Favoritism towards William Hampers Prince Harry's Departure from Meghan Markle and Diana's Legacy

Lady C: Diana's Favoritism towards William Hampers Prince Harry's Departure from Meghan Markle and Diana's Legacy

Royal insider Lady Colin Campbell has been openly critical of Prince Harry's public actions toward the royal family since stepping back from his senior royal role in 2020. In a recent interview, Campbell delved into Princess Diana's legacy, discussing her tragic death and the contrasting ways in which Diana's two sons seem to have inherited aspects of her personality.

She boldly asserts that Prince Harry embodies the less favorable traits of his mother, while his brother Prince William represents the best of Diana. Lady Colin Campbell, known for her extensive writings on the royal family, shared her insights about Diana's legacy during an interview with GB News. She contends that the differences between Diana's two sons are striking and that Princess Diana's legacy ultimately revolves around her children.

Campbell goes on to describe Princess Diana as a complex and somewhat divisive personality, acknowledging her numerous virtues but also noting the damage inflicted by her parents' divorce, involving John Spencer and Frances Shand-Kydd. From a young age, Diana witnessed both the brilliance and privilege of the royal world's underbelly.

According to Campbell, Prince William embodies the best qualities of his mother, while Prince Harry seems to carry some of her less favorable traits. She draws upon her personal experience with the late Princess of Wales to support her perspective.

This discussion arises amid reports that Prince William will inherit all of Princess Diana's assets. Among the notable items bequeathed to William is Diana's iconic engagement ring, which now graces the finger of Princess Kate. Additionally, William received the Spencer Tiara, a cherished piece of the late princess's jewelry collection. Half of Diana's estate went to William, with the other half awarded to his brother, Prince Harry. However, Prince Harry's marriage to Meghan Markle resulted in the estate being returned to the Spencer family, leaving him with certain rings for his wife, among them a particularly significant piece.

Andrew Morton, a royal biographer, recently claimed that Princess Diana had envisioned Prince Harry as a supportive companion to his older brother and future king, Prince William. He stated that Diana had intended for Harry to serve as a wingman to William, helping him cope with the challenges and isolation associated with his future role. However, this vision did not materialize, and the brothers currently find themselves estranged, with no communication for several months.

Despite Prince Harry's recent return to the UK for the WellChild Awards, there appears to be little hope of reconciliation with Prince William in the foreseeable future. The two brothers remain distant, and any prospect of mending their relationship remains uncertain.
