This event coincides with a busy week for the Sussexes. Prince Harry is set to travel to London for a charity event on the eve of the first anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's passing. Afterward, he will head to Dusseldorf, Germany, for the start of the Invictus Games.
Earlier this week, the couple released their latest Netflix series, "Heart of Invictus," which features athletes preparing for last year's edition of the games and includes Harry's candid discussion about his mental health.
Notably, they weren't the only famous attendees at Beyoncé's performance. Celebrities like Terry Crews, Taraji P. Henderson, and more were pictured at the event. This isn't the first time the Sussexes have crossed paths with Beyoncé; she accepted a BRIT Award in 2019 in front of a portrait depicting Meghan as a royal version of the Mona Lisa. In a post honoring Black History Month, Beyoncé and Jay-Z praised Meghan for her courage and leadership, particularly after her revealing interview with Oprah, where she disclosed experiencing racist treatment within the royal family.
In one episode of their Netflix documentary, "Harry and Meghan," the couple shared that they had received supportive texts from Beyoncé. Meghan explained, 'Beyoncé just texted, just checking in. I still can't believe she knows who I am. She said she wants me to feel safe and protected and admires and respects my bravery.'
Previously, the Sussexes had an awkward encounter with Beyoncé and Jay-Z during the premiere of "The Lion King" in 2019. While exchanging pleasantries on the red carpet, Beyoncé referred to Meghan as 'my princess.'
