Veterans Return Tickets and Demand Ban on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from Invictus Games

A cloud of uncertainty shrouds Meghan Markle's role, if any, in her husband's forthcoming Invictus Games. She notably disappeared from the media schedule outlined in the official guide to the games in Germany, set to begin this weekend.

Initially, the guide suggested that Meghan would take the stage during the closing ceremony to host a segment dedicated to the competitors. However, there is no mention of Meghan's role in a separate listing on the website, and the detailed schedule indicates that presenter Ned Testify will replace her.

The now-deleted passage had outlined Meghan's participation in hosting an intimate and moving glimpse into the extraordinary journeys of the Invictus Games competitors. Sources last night claimed that this information was uploaded in error.

Rumors are swirling that thousands of veterans have returned their closing ceremony tickets, viewing Meghan as unworthy of appearing at an event they see as having no significant contribution or role for her. They believe her presence tarnishes the image of the Invictus Games. A petition has already gained thousands of signatures, and it's expected to continue growing as veterans express their intention to boycott the event, emphasizing that Meghan isn't deserving of their presence.

This controversy has also raised concerns that Meghan and Harry might be overshadowing the real heroes of the Invictus Games, which are the veterans themselves. Some argue that Meghan shouldn't even attend such an occasion.

Meanwhile, Harry has come under fire for treating the veterans in his "Heart of Invictus" documentary as fillers to an episode. Ed Power, a writer for The Telegraph, weighed in on the matter, stating that "Heart of Invictus" is trying to be two things at once. Despite understanding that Harry and Meghan are the main draw, their involvement risks making the entire show about themselves and not the games. Some question whether the struggles of the ex-military personnel profiled in the first installment ultimately function as filler between the Harry-centric content.

Harry will make a guest appearance on a late-night TV show, typically dedicated to discussing the afternoon's football matches in the German Bundesliga. However, instead of talking about Harry Kane's new team at Bayern Munich, he will discuss the Invictus Games, which are being held in Dusseldorf. Interestingly, he will be privately transported around Germany in a helicopter, despite the Duke and Duchess of Sussex supposedly wanting to achieve Net Zero by 2030. This helicopter transport will be provided by the German military, who are hosting the week-long event involving teams from 21 different countries.

In 2021, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle pledged, through their organization Archewell during COP26 in Glasgow, to achieve Net Zero by 2030. The statement at the time read, 'As global leaders convened for COP26 to commit to solutions for our climate crisis, all of us at Archewell, led by the Sussexes, share our pledge towards a more sustainable future by becoming Net Zero by 2030.
