King Charles' Last Offer to Prince Harry Revealed: Return Home Solo, Leaving Meghan Markle Behind

Since leaving the royal family in 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have kept their distance from them. All of that, though, could be about to change. King Charles is prepared to extend an olive branch to the California-based royals and welcome them back into the family, according to one royal expert, even though their most recent meeting for peace negotiations was postponed.

David Owens, the author of "After Elizabeth: Can the Monarchy Save Itself," claimed in an interview with GB News that Charles would like the couple and their kids, Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 1, back in the royal fold, provided they initiate contact.

Owens stated, "He is demonstrating he is ready to reconcile, and that ultimately, the onus is on them to make a decision as to whether they want to heal the wounds that have opened up between them and the rest of the royal family." Owens also emphasized that the king has effectively held the moral high ground, presenting himself as a conciliator, which is crucial for maintaining his reputation as a public figure.

The royal expert added that the most critical thing for Charles is how he is viewed by the British people. He clearly wishes to maintain a positive reputation, which explains the king's consistent decision to take the moral high ground when it comes to sensitive matters such as the Harry and Meghan situation.

However, while it seems that one party is ready to extend an olive branch and forgive and forget, Charles is set to face a significant hurdle. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have previously stated that they would like an official apology from the royal family.

Owens pointed out that such an act is highly unlikely due to the public perception it would create. He explained that it would essentially imply that the royal family had committed a serious wrong in the first place.

In other intriguing news, there have been suspicions that the couple may have had a secret royal encounter with Harry's cousin, Princess Eugenie, and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, during their brief trip to Portugal. A Portuguese magazine, Nova Gente, reported that they arrived in Portugal without their children and headed to Alentejo, specifically to Mides.

This choice of location might have been related to a possible invitation from Harry's cousin, Princess Eugenie, who has been spending a lot of time in that part of Alentejo due to her husband's work. However, neither party has confirmed whether the meeting occurred.
