On October 9, 2016, a Los Angeles-based PR agency altered her Wikipedia entry. They removed references to her involvement with "Deal or No Deal" and a description of her case number on the show. Additionally, the reference to her career as a fashion model was deleted. In its place, a section on humanitarian work was inserted, describing her visits to Rwanda and Afghanistan, as well as a speech in New York for United Nations women.
Tom Bowes highlights that this was an investigation conducted by individuals associated with the Queen, indicating that Meghan's propensity for altering her past was already under scrutiny. She prefers to keep events undocumented through pictures, such as her wedding to Trevor Engelson, where she eliminated all photos and videos.
