Meghan Markle's Bid for US Politics: Why Critics Say It's 'All Wrong'

Experts believe that Meghan Markle's potential venture into US politics could be deemed inappropriate if she continues to hold the royal title of Duchess of Sussex. Nile Gardiner, the director of the Margaret Thatcher Center for Freedom at the conservative think tank Heritage Foundation, has voiced his opinion on the matter, emphasizing the need for Meghan to relinquish her royal title should she decide to enter the realm of US politics.

Gardiner, a foreign policy expert, conveyed his viewpoint to Newsweek, stating, "It's inappropriate for someone with the stature of the Duchess of Sussex to involve herself in US political activities. As a member of the royal family with a royal title, her engagement in politics is problematic." 

He further emphasized that if Meghan, who holds the title of Duchess of Sussex, chooses to engage in political campaigning, she should voluntarily surrender that title, or the Royal Family should take steps to remove it.

Gardiner went on to predict, "Certainly, there will be increased calls for the removal of her title if she decides to actively support Joe Biden or Congressional candidates." He firmly asserted that as a member of the royal family, Meghan should abstain from participating in any form of political activity, as it goes against established norms and expectations.
