Meghan Markle's Grammy Snub: Desperation Mounts as Award Denied for Spare; Boycott Threatened If Harry Emerges Victorious

Meghan Markle's Grammy Snub: Desperation Mounts as Award Denied for Spare; Boycott Threatened If Harry Emerges Victorious

The publishers of Prince Harry have expressed hope that the 15-hour self-read version of his memoir, "Spare," will be nominated for a Grammy Award at the 66th annual ceremony. Penguin Random House Audio shared a picture of the book cover to X, the previous Twitter platform, along with the remark, "For your Grammy consideration," mentioning the category of "Best Audiobook Narration and Storytelling."

After Harry's audiobook was released worldwide on January 10th, the recording received a lot of attention. The public was captivated by the narrative, especially his description of getting frostbite in his intimate area when trekking to the North Pole before to Prince William and Catherine's 2011 wedding.

Alongside this post about "Spare" on the wedding day, Penguin Random House also highlighted several other titles with the "For your Grammy consideration" caption, indicating that Harry's nomination could face some stiff competition.

Among the other titles put forward by Penguin Random House are "The Light We Carry" by Michelle Obama, "It's Okay to Be Angry About Capitalism" by Bernie Sanders, and "Build the Life You Want" by Arthur C. Brooks and Oprah Winfrey.

Currently, Grammy voters are in the first round of voting, where they narrow down thousands of entries from record labels and publishers into the final categories and official nominees. This first round of voting opened on October 11th and will close on October 20th. The winners of the 2024 Grammy Awards will be announced on November 10th.

Harry's memoir, which was released globally on January 10th, a few days after an early leak in Spain, has been a topic of discussion, with rumors circulating that Meghan is working with Grammy organizers to secure the award after the Sussexes were not nominated for the Emmys. At the same time, there have been allegations of mobilizing Archewell employees to create virtual votes in support of Harry.

In response to Penguin Random House's tweet, many people left comments. Some were skeptical, with one person suggesting that giving Harry the Grammy would further discredit these awards. Another questioned whether Harry, who used a ghostwriter for his memoir, would also receive the award if it were to win. There was also speculation that the book's negative publicity may have impacted its sales.

In summary, the possibility of Prince Harry's memoir receiving a Grammy nomination has sparked discussions and speculations, with some expressing doubts about the credibility of the awards and others questioning the nature of Harry's involvement in the book's writing.
