Body language expert Darren Stanton closely analyzed the couple's behavior, uncovering two contrasting sides of Prince Harry during the event: one when he was on his own and another when he was with his wife, Meghan.
When Prince Harry was by himself, as seen, for example, during the Invictus Games, he exuded an air of remarkable relaxation, with shoulders down and frequent smiles, reflecting a deep sense of calmness and authenticity.
He was passionate and genuine when speaking to the press, which earned him applause. However, a dramatic shift in his emotional demeanor occurred when Meghan joined him. Many photos from the New York conference portrayed Meghan looking joyful with a big smile, while Harry appeared frustrated and angry, with furrowed eyebrows. It seemed as if Meghan's happiness was somehow diminishing Harry's own sense of joy.
This apparent shift in Harry's emotions stemmed from his struggle to achieve certain goals when Meghan was present, which led to his message being diluted. They had to share the spotlight, even though Meghan is, undeniably, his wife.
Harry's frustration was not solely attributed to Meghan's behavior but also tied to her decision to sell a wedding ring that contained Diana's stone. She used the proceeds from the sale, along with Harry's inheritance, to indulge in expensive clothing during the New York event.
Meghan showcased two distinct looks during the day, collectively costing over £7,000. In the morning, she donned a jacket with black skinny jeans, accessorized with a 14-karat gold diamond choker necklace and a Cartier Love bracelet. She completed this look with Jennifer Chamandi Lorenzo 105 pumps.
Later in the day, she switched to a smart ivory suit, comprising the sold-out Aliser Walding off-the-shoulder wool blazer and matching pants, along with Amamu's Pure 105 pumps and nude leather accessories. Notably, the most expensive part of her ensemble was the jewelry, amounting to approximately $66,000.
The Sussexes now seem to rely on loans, likely secured against Harry's Diana money and the remaining engagement funds. Their previous lucrative contracts with Spotify, Netflix, and Penguin have concluded.
These contracts spanned three to five years, and Netflix still holds a portion of the agreed amount. Harry's book deal involves writing four books with expected annual earnings between $12 to $15 million. However, their current income sources, including merchandise and investments, appear insufficient to meet their financial needs.
