According to reports from People magazine, the series will delve into an incident from the Duke of Sussex's youth when he made headlines for donning a Nazi soldier costume at a costume party back in 2005.
In "The Crown," actor Luther Ford will step into the role of Prince Harry, guiding viewers through the controversial choice of costume and the subsequent media frenzy that ensued. In the aftermath of the incident, Prince Harry promptly issued a statement expressing his regret, saying, "I was very sorry if I caused any offense or embarrassment to anyone. It was a poor choice of costume, and I apologize."
Prince Harry has not shied away from acknowledging his regret over the incident in various public forums, including his Harry & Meghan Netflix docuseries released last year. In his own words, he admitted, "Probably one of the biggest mistakes in my life. I felt so ashamed afterwards. All I wanted to do was make it right."
In his tell-all memoir, Prince Harry also laid blame on his brother Prince William and sister-in-law Kate Middleton for their part in the ill-advised costume choice. He wrote, "I phoned Willy and Kate, asked what they thought. Nazi uniform, they said. I rented it, plus a silly mustache, and went back to the house. I tried it all on. They both howled. Worse than Willy’s leotard outfit! Way more ridiculous! Which, again, was the point," offering insights into the circumstances surrounding that fateful evening.
As per the latest update from Netflix, "The Crown" Season 6 is set to premiere in two parts. The first part is scheduled for release on November 16, while the remaining episodes will follow on December 14.
