US Philanthropists Withdraw Support as Meghan Markle Faces Accusations of Funds Mismanagement for Nigerian Girls

U.S. philanthropists have ceased their cooperation and have raised concerns about the management of funds in a charity benefiting 2,500 Nigerian girls. The Archwell Foundation, in a statement on their website, indicated their support for girls' education and health in Nigeria.

They claimed to have partnered with the Jianko Foundation to provide school supplies and menstrual products to young scholars in the region. Additionally, they pledged support for menstrual health education for the same 2,500 girls.

Upon reading this report, one aspect that struck me was the lack of clarity regarding the number of filled backpacks funded. While there are 15 girls shown in the provided photo with backpacks, the report only specifies education for 2,500 girls in mental health. This leaves room for ambiguity, potentially leading readers to believe that 2,500 backpacks were provided, which is not the case. It raises questions about transparency and intentions.

The concern here is that the foundation might be minimizing their expenditure by providing the bare minimum of backpacks while highlighting the 2,500 girls educated in mental health to create a positive image. This could be misleading, especially for young girls like 14-year-old Madam, who may feel exploited if they are featured in a campaign about feminine hygiene while wearing backpacks full of tampons.

It appears that the organization tends to exaggerate their efforts, making small contributions seem significant. This is evident in their approach to events like visits to schools, which are portrayed as major commitments. It's a tactic of amplifying achievements, such as turning a $0.2 donation into a total of $2 million. This trend also extends to partnerships, as seen with Proctor and Gamble's donation being attached to their own contribution for PR purposes.

The focus here seems to be on gaining attention rather than genuine charity work. Individuals and organizations looking for genuine support may think twice before involving them, as they appear to be attention seekers, clout chasers, and credit hogs, often using the less fortunate as a platform.

This pattern of behavior is highlighted by the recent Gianco Gala in Los Angeles, where Meghan and Harry were notably absent. The event was attended by numerous A-listers, including Oprah Winfrey, Angelina Jolie, Benedict Cumberbatch, and many others. Notably, Netflix was present, but Meghan and Harry's absence suggests they weren't invited or chose not to attend.

This isn't the first time Meghan has been excluded from charity events. In South Africa, she faced a similar situation with the Clooney Foundation for Justice's Albi Awards. The gala, honoring defenders of justice, featured Hollywood stars, but Meghan and Harry were not allowed to participate, likely due to concerns about their charity work.

In summary, there are significant concerns about the transparency, intentions, and ethical standards of the charity's operations, leading to skepticism and exclusion from prominent charity events.
