Margot Robbie Requests Assistant to Escort Meghan Markle Off Variety Red Carpet, Declines Photo Opportunity

Last week, Meghan Markle found herself in an awkward moment while attending an event. As she walked down the red carpet, a body language expert analyzed her demeanor. According to the expert, Meghan managed to handle the situation gracefully, but there was a risk that she might show irritation as she was hurried along, just like any other celebrity. Meghan made her return to the red carpet at Variety's Power of Women event in Los Angeles last Thursday, joining other celebrity guests for photos.

However, attention was drawn to Meghan being ushered along the red carpet by an assistant. Meghan briefly continued posing before interacting with the assistant and moving along. Body language expert Judy James shared her insights with GB News, noting that Meghan has become adept at recovering from such situations, turning slip-ups and potential loss of dignity into face-saving changes of movement to protect her brand. Judy mentioned previous instances where this had occurred.

Judy pointed out that publicists can be firm in ushering celebrities along at events to ensure that the most prominent names get sufficient attention. She suggested that Meghan seemed engrossed in the moment and may not have noticed the hand reaching out to guide her, which is typically a sign that a guest has exceeded their allotted time and bigger names are waiting.

Judy emphasized that while it's acceptable for celebrities to be guided or directed, being pushed or shoved without direct physical contact doesn't present a positive image. She mentioned that Meghan initially didn't seem to acknowledge the outstretched hand, but when she did, she backed away and continued posing. A moment of potential conflict occurred as the assistant continued to guide her, but Meghan managed to recover.

The body language expert observed that Meghan extended her own hand as if she were greeting a lifelong fan or an old friend, holding it and shaking it slightly, signaling affection before taking a few more photos.

The assistant's intervention was because photographers wanted to take pictures of another guest, Margot Robbie, who was waiting for her photo session. Meghan had been attempting to arrange a photo opportunity with Robbie, but Robbie declined. This incident was reminiscent of when Robbie had previously poked fun at Harry and Meghan in front of Prince William and Catherine at the 2020 BAFTA Awards.

On that occasion, while accepting Brad Pitt's Best Supporting Actor award on his behalf, Robbie joked about Britain's new "single" status and made references to Brexit and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's decision to step back from their royal duties.
