While the GQ males of the Year Awards generally focus on males, women have been honored in categories like "Heroes of the Year" and "Game Changer of the Year" in the past.
However, it's worth noting that the nominees for this year's Oscars were recently released, and Megan Markle's name was glaringly omitted from the list. Megan's public relations efforts have been called into question because she and Harry are highly unlikely to win an award in the UK and because their return to the city for the ceremony could be difficult owing to public anger.
Reportedly, Megan contacted WME, a talent agency, in an attempt to get invitations to the GQ Men of the Year celebration in Los Angeles. This effort, however, appears to have been thwarted by Tom Ford and the Kardashians, who hosted the event together with Kim and Travis Scott. GQ Magazine's 28th Modern Issue will be celebrated with a party in Los Angeles on November 16th, a day after a similar party is held in London. Los Angeles's fashion, entertainment, and sports elite will all be represented at the event.
Tickets for the event start at $4,999 plus VAT per person for the regular guest experience and go up to $5,999 plus VAT per person for access to the red carpet and much higher for the paparazzi experience. There have been rumblings that Kim K. and Tom Ford don't want Megan there for fear that she may cause trouble or try to obtain access by purchasing a ticket. Despite her normal reluctance to host such events, Kim Kardashian has expressed interest for the party, so it looks like a great chance for the hosts to capitalize on their shared spotlight.
